| Toronto has always been a great city for us, from our very first show there with Franz Ferdinand in 2004. Tonight, we're playing the Phoenix Theater which seems to be a little out of town - but is also sold out, so there's nothing to panic about, I'm told by Harvey, our Tour Manager. Tonight is also our first show with Tapes ‘N Tapes, the Minneapolis band whose debut record, ‘The Loon' is extraordinary. I made good friends with Josh from the band last year in the US so it's exciting that we're going to have some mates with us for the rest of the tour. It's great playing to a full house in a Theater - I wish there were more in the UK because it really feels like you're putting on a show when you're playing in such a nice venue. Afterwards, I get soaked with some pals of mine as they cart me across town for a famous ‘Root Beer Float'. It's a great night. |
