Pitchfork Festival, Chicago |

We'd been kindly asked by Pitchfork Media to stop off in Chicago and play their very first festival event in Union Park. The bill for this festival is amazing. I wish we were here for both days, but at least I got to see Band of Horses, who were great, and we also caught up with Art Brut a little, who are doing a load of touring in the US this year.
A friend of mine from Newcastle liked the look of the bill so much that he brought his girlfriend out for it, so it was great to catch up with them a little today, and share a pre-gig ice-cream whilst looking around the record fair etc.
The crowd were awesome, and really got into the spirit of the whole affair when Barry split them for ‘Hounds'. More power to Pitchfork, I say, because so many of these bands operate outside of the mainstream press - it's great that a festival like this can exist. |
