There's a song by Tom Waits called ‘Grapefruit Moon', with a line that goes, "Every time I hear that melody, Something breaks inside." I'm starting to feel that way about some of the French Kicks songs. They're playing stuff from their new record only, and it's really good. I don't know if I'm starting to pine for home a bit, but there are a few moments in their set when I'm feeling a tad sentimental, I'll be honest. They've been lovely blokes to tour with.
We also played a ‘Going Live'-esque kids TV show today for Cartoon Network - it got very psychedelic when the kids all came in. We performed on this ‘Home Improvement' style garage set, with about 50 10-15 yr-olds in front of us - all dancing with no reference to the music whatsoever. What wreckless abandon. It was worth it just for Dave's reaction - After all, he's so enthusiastic about everything.... |
